Operational Aircraft: Boeing E-4 Advanced Airborne Command Post (AACP), "Nightwatch" aircraft.
The E-4 series are specially modified from the Boeing 747-200B model series.
The four E-4Bs are operated by the 1st Airborne Command & Control Squadron
located at Offutt AFB.
A Boeing E-4B aircraft when in action is denoted a "National Airborne Operations Center" (NAOC)
One E-4B Nightwatch aircraft was kept on continuous flying alert during Operation
Looking Glass from 1974 to 1998
