I drove through a thunderous storm from Columbus, Georgia, to get to the Franklin Music Park, just shy of Atlanta.
The show was under a huge tent, like Billy Graham might use when preaching the gospel.
Johnny and June Carter plowed through twenty or so songs that evening.
It was a fantastic show the likes of which I would never see again.
Since Johnny toured and performed whenever he could, there was no tour supporting an album…he basically played shows until he needed a rest and after rested got on the road again.
I cannot find a ticket and cannot pinpoint the date when I purchased the program but it was in the early 1980s.
There is not a date to be found on the program, either.
This is another piece of history up for grabs.
It is in mint condition and is just shy of 40 years old, kept all these years in a box, in a smoke-free environment.
Will be carefully packaged and mailed flat.
